Visualization Mental visualization (or mental imagery) is the process by which a person imagines an action, a scenario or a situation in their mind as if it were happening, by mobilizing their senses (sight, hearing, touch, sometimes taste and smell) and emotions. It is "mentally rehearsing" with all one's senses and emotions to improve performance, confidence, creativity or decision-making, and to attain predefined goals.
Visualization is often combined with journaling, to leverage the power of written self-reflection. It is also associated with meditation and mindfulness. |
